Audrey - 2 months

Beautiful little Audrey is 4 days older than Lincoln and made her modeling debut at 9 weeks. Isn't she a doll?? I think she likes the camera. :) And check out the pictures of her "talking" to her dad in the slideshow. I've never heard a baby have a conversation before, it's so cute! I wonder what she was telling him...
I've been out of the county for a few weeks and these were taken the day before I left. Travel pictures to come soon!

Goodbye President Bush

While millions watched the historic events downtown on the mall, I was privileged to be part of a much smaller ceremony at Andrews AFB sending President Bush off to Texas. The ceremony was private so as not to take away from Obama’s day, but very sweet and sentimental all the same. While I certainly didn’t agree with many of President Bush’s big ticket items when it came to his domestic agenda, as someone who was working on the Hill on September 11th and who lives down the street from the Pentagon, I’m very grateful that his dedication to protecting us did allow me to eventually return to life as usual after those intense days. While he enjoyed some of the highest and lowest approval ratings, I believe history will be more kind and agree with him that he accomplished his goals and kept us safe.

It was difficult to get any pictures worth posting of the speeches (the Cheney's were there as well); they were on the edge of the hanger and back lit, plus there were tall people in front of me. But here are a few shots of George and Laura leaving on “Special Air Mission 28000”. The plane is only called Air Force One when the current President is aboard.

This plane is incredibly large, and so clean and shiny, as you'd expect from the military. The Bushes were joined on the flight by daughter Barbara, Bush 41 and Barbara, plus many of the President's top advisors who were going home to Texas. This is just as they were pulling away.

After takeoff they came back around for a finally goodbye. A patriotic and awe-inspiring moment for sure. This also the last flight for the pilot who is retiring.
And one of the best parts of the day was - we were in a hanger the whole time and not out in the freezing cold and wind for all those hours like we expected to be! :)

Jacksonville FL Wedding Photographer - Alayne and Matt -

More pictures of Alayne and Matt from our fun shoot in Jacksonville a few weeks ago on a beautiful, warm afternoon. (Boy does that sound good now! :)) They are such an elegant couple that it was hard to pick only a few favorites. So, here's a sampling. Enjoy!

Jacksonville Childrens Photographer - Lenox at Two

I'm still catching up on editing. Here are a couple shots from Lenox's two year old shoot, taken mid-December. Such a cute face, if this unbiased Aunt does say so herself. :)

Michelle - Class of 2009

I had a fabulous time with Michelle and her mom when we met in St. Augustine, FL for Michelle's Senior shoot. Wintertime light is great for shooting just about any time during the day and in Florida it's warm enough to actually enjoy the day too. :) It was slightly cool (relative, of course) but Michelle was a great sport especially after the temperature really dropped after dark. But it was fun to take advantage of the lights along with water after sunset.
My aim was to show Michelle's beauty and fun-loving personality, and I think both shine through in the images. It was such an enjoyable shoot that I forgive Michelle for making me feel old, as I remember her best as a baby when I was a Senior in high school!

Happy Birthday Lenox!

Lenox is officially 2 years old today! How the years fly by! It's amazing how much kids change from ages one to two. Barely walking a year ago, now he repeats everything you say, knows the alphabet, can spell his name and do 35 piece jigsaw puzzles. However, at his party on Saturday he still needed some help blowing out his candle despite his best efforts. :)
But he certainly knew what to do with the cupcake and
gave an approving "mmmm, yum, yum" after every bite.
This was after he discovered he could see his reflection in my lens. Lovely.
He takes the present opening very seriously, making sure to remove every bit of paper
and taking time to peruse the new George book. He loves books!
Here his is in the "jumpy thing" rented for his party with his favorite gift, a toy leaf blower.
It goes every where with him!

Alayne and Matt

For those of you waiting for more Lenox and Lincoln pictures, I prefer not to edit images from my laptop, so I'm saving most of the editing for January, but I do need to post more pictures of them from the last few weeks soon!
Today I had a fun shoot with Alayne and Matt. They were gracious enough to get dressed up and let me play! Who knew downtown Jacksonville was had so many great picture locations? And the best part is - plenty of street parking, unlike all the places I usually go. And, you can't beat nearly 80 degrees at the end of December!
I'll have more images of them soon too, but here's the last shot of the day. A lot of the images were glamorous or serious; I think it could be said that this one is the jump for joy that we were finally finished. :) Aren't they cute?!

Lincoln - 5 days old

At 5 days old, Lincoln was a perfect little subject for his first photo shoot. Maybe he'll be the kid in the family that hams it up for the camera. I can always hope! :) As you can see, he didn't let us interrupt his naps. First, a few family shots in the backyard:

These next two were taken on day 8. He's still sleeping.

And just to compare, here's Lenox, I think at about 10 days old. They don't look like twins, but I think it will be obvious they are brothers!

Introducing Lincoln!

I'm being accused of neglecting my newest nephew on my blog, so without further ado, I must introduce Lincoln! He was born on Saturday and portraits should be coming in a few days.

Here he is about an hour and a half old, right before his bath. The hospital where he was born keeps the babies in the room at all times so we could hold his hands and comfort him while he was getting checked out, measured, weighted and all. He was a hefty 10 pounds 3 ounces yet seems slimmer framed than Lenox who was 5 ounces lighter. At first we thought that Lincoln looked completely different than Lenox did at birth, but looking back at Lenox's baby pictures we've seen many more similarities than differences. And, as the days go by, they look even more alike.
A very eager big brother came the next morning to meet Lincoln.
Lenox immediately covered him with hugs and kisses. He loves to hold his baby brother.
Family of four.

And one with Lincoln and me, taken by Susan.
