Anniversary Photo Shoot - Alayne and Matt

You may remember Alayne, as she appeared on my blog from her recent shoot in Jacksonville, FL. She and her husband, Matt, were in DC last weekend to celebrate their 4th anniversary and to see the cherry blossoms. The tidal basin blossoms were gone, but there were plenty of other flowers for their "DC in bloom" pictures.
These beautiful double ruffle pink trees are also cherry blossoms, just not the ones we usually think of. And the wisteria, tulips and dogwoods are as spectacular as ever. And of course a DC photo shoot wouldn't be complete without a stop at the famous "blue doors". I had a great time photographing them up here in Washington DC for a change!

Arlington VA Maternity Photography - Jodi

It's always fun to catch up with past clients, so I was thrilled when Jodi asked me to do a mini maternity shoot for her when she was in town recently. She wanted a few pictures to document this milestone in her life and for the baby to have a picture of his or her mommy at this time. I'm sure your child will appreciate how thoughtful and organized you are, Jodi!
I knew and worked with Jodi on hearing health issues when I was a Hill staffer many years ago, so it's been an honor to be apart of some of the biggest moments in her life, first as her wedding photographer. And now I'm so excited for her and Michael as they prepare to welcome their first baby. Hopefully they'll bring the child back for a visit so I can photograph him or her in the months and years to come.
Congratulations on your growing family, I can't wait for the "it's a boy - or girl" announcement!

Arlington VA Portrait Photographer - TaShika

I had the pleasure of photographing TaShika at her studio apartment on Saturday in Arlington. She's hoping to start her own interior design business soon, so she wanted the pictures to capture her decorating style too. She has certainly made the most of a small space with lots of beautiful elements. I can see why her friends and family are coming to her for decorating advice! Here are just a few of my favorite portraits, isn't she gorgeous?!

Laura and Stuart - Georgetown Portrait Photographer

Laura surprised Stuart with a photo shoot for their 3rd Anniversary. I think Stuart may have suspected something before meeting us in Georgetown, either by the request to get a haircut over the weekend or when Laura picked out his clothes that day. :)
The goal was to capture their relationship and personalities in a way that a rainy wedding day didn't. I'd say the mission was accomplished, as the images show both their playful side and how much they adore each other. I was more than happy to be their anniversary photographer and had a fantastic time working with them!











You may recognize Laura from images taken earlier this year for her event planning business Events in the City. She also works for R&R Catering and I've worked a number of weddings with her.
