This engagement shoot embodies why I love my job as a wedding photographer! Karen and Paul are a super sweet, fun and fabulous engaged couple who were trusting enough to follow me around Old Town, a little off the beaten path, as I looked for interesting colors and textures, and beautiful light. And I think the walking paid off. :) Aren't they adorable!? Their smiles are contagious and it makes me smile just looking back at their pictures. I can't possibly pick a favorite picture, so below is a sampling of images from their Old Town Alexandria engagement shoot. They are planning a lovely fall wedding at River Farm and I can't wait! Grayson is a busy boy and I think he enjoyed exploring Old Town on a beautiful spring evening. We wanted to capture his beautiful blue eyes, his new walking skills and budding personality. He showed he was all boy as he also enjoyed digging into the dirt and mulch with his fingers. We did save the tulips from him; I think he wanted to pick one for his mom. :)
Kelly and Jeff were married on a gorgeous fall day, with a sweet ceremony and dinner party at the historic Lloyd House in Old Town Alexandria. Who would have thought we'd have nice enough weather for an outdoor wedding under the yellow leaves? Beautiful!
After Hanna came through on Saturday, Sunday was a gorgeous day, perfect for Kelly and Jeff's engagement shoot. We wandered around Old Town and made the most of all the colors and textures we found - they were really good sports and game to do anything I suggested (be sure to watch the slideshow). I had a great time working with them and love so many of the images that capture their relationship. Now I'm looking forward to their wedding in November even more!
I'm really enjoying working with seniors this summer and capturing them at this pivotal point in their lives. Shelby is gorgeous and we had a great time finding lots of texture and color to compliment her outfits. As you can tell, it was impossible to pick a favorite image, though I do love this first one. Make sure you watch her slideshow for more.
