Chris and Michelle's Wedding Story

I finished Chris and Michelle's album last weekend and it's already ordered. They'll have it in their hands 4 to 6 weeks after the wedding - so much better than the stories you hear of couples still waiting for their album years later!
The main reason my turn around time is so quick is that I do the initial album design (often ready for the couple to see by the time they come back from their honeymoon) which saves them hours of agonizing over which images to include. They are welcome to swap images, but often they go with the album as I designed it and are holding it withing weeks!
And then I love hearing how they look at it every day. :) That makes my day!

Congratulations Michelle and Chris!

Michelle and Chris's kid-friendly wedding was a wonderful day for everyone. All the nieces and nephews and Michelle's daughter Abby were included in the ceremony. I think the girls may have been a little more excited about the honor than the boys. :) And to make it even more of a family affair, the best man was Michelle's brother and the matron of honor was Chris's sister. It was such a pleasure to work with Chris and Michelle, I wish them the best as they start their lives as a new family!

Janel and Steve's Wedding Story

Congratulations Janel and Steve!

Janel and Steve were married on Saturday in a grand celebration of God's goodness to them. There were many sweet moments and lots of smiles. Janel and I worked together several years ago so it was a special honor to capture this long-awaited day.

Both sets of parents joined them for a special prayer of blessing on the newly created family.

I think they're excited to be married, don't you? :)

Allison - Class of 2009

The beautiful Allison is graduating and we hadfun last Thursday taking her senior portrait. She was a great sport on a particularly long shoot, but the result was well worth it! Isn't she lovely?

Hadley - 7 months

Time flies and little Miss Hadley is growing up fast. She still has a head of hair that makes most babies envious and a sweet smile that melts your heart. Even though I' m friends with her mom, I don't see this adorable girl nearly enough. :)

Hotel Monaco Washington DC Wedding Photographer - Emily and Tomas's Wedding Story

I finished Emily and Tomas's album today and it's beautiful! Emily picked such vibrant colors and they really make the album bright and cheerful.
After see the pictures of her pink Peony bouquet all week, I couldn't resist buying a few for a vase on my desk. As a side note, Peonies were also the Reagan's favorite flowers and to remind Nancy Reagan of when they were available for arrangements at the White House, someone gave her a needlepoint pillow that said "Peonies Bloom in May". For some reason I think of that pillow every time I think of Peonies. Must be a trivia point from one of the many White House tours I've taken.
Back to the album. This book is also the first landscape book I've designed (16x12) and I must say the images fit nicely on pages that size. To see the design, click here.

Hotel Monaco Washington DC Wedding Photography - Congratulations Emily and Tomas!

Emily and Tomas were married on Saturday at Holy Trinity in Georgetown. It was a hot and steamy day, but no rain for a change. Emily and Tomas had a huge group (18!) of supportive friends at their side who brought up often that their 6 year engagement beginning in high school is finally over. Best wishes for many, many more years together; it was an honor to be your wedding photographer!

All the details were gorgeous including Emily's bouquet of peonies from Growing Wild.

And the Hotel Monaco never looked better than with Tiffany blue linens.

The day was expertly managed by Alex and her assistant Jackie with Cherry Blossom Weddings and Events.

River Farm Wedding Photography - Congratulations Allison and Adam!

Allison and Adam were married on Saturday after finally making it into the church after being trapped in the limos while an incredible storm blew through. Thankfully, by the time we arrived at beautiful River Farm for the reception we even saw a bit of blue sky! Allison and Adam and their families enjoyed every minute of the day and didn't let the weather bother them. And I don't know when I've seen a couple have so much fun with their first dance - you can see it and more in the slideshow set to the first dance song. When I have clients that I enjoy working with so much I'm always a little sad when the wedding is over. Allison and Adam - Best wishes for a wonderful life together!







The tables were beautiful! Laura with R&R Catering pulled it all together in spite of the crazy weather.

Baby Soren and his family

Three month old Soren was quite the trooper for his first family photo shoot - even though we knew we were pushing it by shooting at his fussy time of day. But he knows how much his parents, grandmother and even the protective family dog love him, so he pushed through and gave us a few smiles. To see more of his cuteness, watch the slideshow below.
