Baby Soren and his family

Three month old Soren was quite the trooper for his first family photo shoot - even though we knew we were pushing it by shooting at his fussy time of day. But he knows how much his parents, grandmother and even the protective family dog love him, so he pushed through and gave us a few smiles. To see more of his cuteness, watch the slideshow below.

Lenox at 16 months

OK, this post is a long time coming and is a little lengthy. As many of you noticed I was in Florida last week and didn't post any new pictures of Lenox. I was attempting to spend more time with people than my computer, so I didn't do any image editing while I was gone. So now I'm home and I don't want to disappoint, so here's a few of the darling boy. He can do so many things now that I wanted to give you a taste of who he is beyond an adorable face. :) So without further delay, here he is!
As he has his whole life, he still crosses his ankles when he sits.
He was answering e-mail for me - or finding new shortcut keys is more like it. And you should see him scroll with the mouse! He still loves the fish screen saver and when a puzzle or book had fish in it, that would remind him and he'd run to the computer to "count" the fish.
He also loves to help Grandpa with his estimating.
The classic Lenox "I don't know where it is" look and gesture.
He LOVES Macy and kisses her and lays on her constantly and she is quite patient with him.
He also says "nice" to dogs - I think he's been told that a few times!
He builds towers and loves to throw balls.
He added the word "ball" to his vocabulary last week.
His other favorite things are books and puzzles.
We spent Memorial weekend at the lake and Friday night the sunset was spectacular!

Not too many skiing pictures this time, but he's one of Dad Leon and Uncle Lee.
Unfortunately watching bumper tubing makes Lenox cry.
But he did like sailing!
He has a little truck that he can't steer but he sure knows how to keep his foot on the gas.
Almost running people down is apparently very funny.
Uncle Lee is pushing him on a Tonka truck that was Lee's toy as a child.
Lenox is also partial to flags and planted this one in the sand.
Bumper tubing without being pulled behind the boat must be more his speed.
I love profiles!
"Driving" Grandpa's tractor is also fun. Actually anything with a steering wheel will work!

Pictures of Washington National Cathedral - Lighting to Unite

Tonight through Sunday from sunset until midnight, the National Cathedral is being illuminated by Swiss Lighting Artist Gerry Hofstetter to celebrate the Cathedral's centennial. It's his debut in the United States, and is certainly a unique look for the Cathedral. Quite a crowd turned out in spite of the chilly weather.

Liz & Mike

I met Liz and Mike out at her favorite Vineyard in Middleburg, Chrysalis Vineyards, for their engagement shoot. The weather was incredible to match the beautiful setting. The people at Chrysalis couldn't have been more hospitable and even allowed us to shoot in the Red Barrel Room in the Winery.
Liz and Mike have an amazing story as they met through his parents while Mike was in Iraq and after getting to know each other long distance, got engaged just days after meeting in person. They are so great together that you'd never guess they've spent most of their time dating half way around the world from each other. Aren't they the cutest couple?

Brennan and Kiana

I love meeting up with my little clients and seeing how much they've grown since our last shoot. There are so many changes between 1 and 2 years old, in particular. Kiana has gone from baby to adorable little girl since our last session. Brennan still has boundless energy and Kiana balances him out by being especially easy going. The kids ran to their hearts content - and I was able to catch some sweet and funny faces along the way!

Azaleas at the Arboretum

You don't have to be around me very long to find out that I love flowers - arranging them, growing them, photographing them - just enjoying them. So naturally I must visit the azaleas every spring at the National Arboretum. They cover Mount Hamilton, the highest hill in DC. And with all the unique hybrids, they are incredible! They are almost gone this year, but put it on your calendar for a visit in late April next year!

These pink ones with the freckles are my favorite!

Susan and Sang's Wedding Story

Susan and Sang's album slideshow has been posted. I was really excited to work on their book with all those amazing portraits and had such a hard time picking only the best of the best images to include. It could easily have become a two volume work! :) I just loving seeing all the pictures come together to tell the day's story. Click here to see it.
