Toni & Carl

I met up with Toni and Carl on a beautiful Sunday for their engagement shoot. This first image is a favorite (it's really impossible to narrow it down to one, I have so many favorites) because they look so cute and you can see what a gorgeous day it was. The second image is a favorite as well, I love the look on Toni's face. I enjoyed spending a few hours with them and am really looking forward to their wedding and more great images in March!

Natalie - 2 1/2 weeks old

Several of my wedding clients from last year are having babies this year, which is a wonderful excuse to see them again and stay in touch.
The first baby to arrive is Natalie, born to Roderick and Leriza, married 4-07. Natalie cooperated fairly well, all things considered. It seems that even newborns don't want to miss a minute of their shoot and stay awake for a record length of time, but she finally gave up and took a nap. :) Roderick and Leriza were very patient with her and helpful to me for the 3 hour session which resulted in great images. Isn't Natalie the most adorable thing??

Beatrice

Beatrice's mom just called to tell me she watched the slideshow and loves the pictures. It really makes my day to have a happy client and to have near instant feedback and to hear her enthusiasm is extra nice too. :)
Beatrice is a blond haired, blue-eyed beauty and looked so sweet in her family heirloom christening gown. She seemed to love the camera and was happiest when she didn't have to share the spotlight. :) As I've said, catching babies before they are crawling is so much easier for portraits, and Bee was quite accommodating and was waiting until after the shoot to really take off crawling. After many phone calls and rescheduling trying to dodge the rain showers at the end of the week, we met at the Cathedral and I think you'd agree the effort was all worth it!

Lindsay and Claire

These two sisters have the most striking, identical, huge blue eyes! Both are such sweet, fun loving girls, I had a great time running around the National Cathedral with them (and their parents) on Saturday as they explored. Watch the slideshow for more action.

Ethan

Four year old Ethan and his mom enjoyed reading in the National Cathedral Gardens as part of the photo shoot. He's such a cute boy, but after this experience, I think Ethan will be sticking with his plan to be a firefighter when he grows up rather than switching to modeling. :)

Shelby - Class of 2009

I'm really enjoying working with seniors this summer and capturing them at this pivotal point in their lives. Shelby is gorgeous and we had a great time finding lots of texture and color to compliment her outfits. As you can tell, it was impossible to pick a favorite image, though I do love this first one. Make sure you watch her slideshow for more.

Lenox - 19 months

I recently returned from a few weeks of visiting my family in the rainy state, formerly known as the sunshine state. I don’t think it has every rained so much in one place! Since our lake was at its lowest level, ever, in May, I’d say we’re making up for decades of drought.
However, rainy evenings do not make for nice pictures. Add a 19 month old boy, wonderful as his is :), to the mix and I’m amazed we have anything salvageable! You'd think he'd be a professional model at this point, but apparently he still needs a little training. :)
To give you an idea of how much Lenox has grown in 11 months, compare these images (photo credit to Susan):
Of course the smiles are better on the night when we didn't plan to take pictures!
The next evening, it was his Mr. Serious face.
A few "smirky" smiles.

Chasing away the birds.

His vocabulary is increasing every day, I think we stopped counting at about 70 words. One of his earliest words was shoes, but as you may be able to tell by his lips, it comes out more like "ooshhh" He wants everyone wearing their shoes at all times and didn't like that we kept taking them off during his shoot, so he's bringing my shoes back to me.
The family shoot was crazy. Our normally very calm, observant boy wouldn't sit still for a second. As you may also be able to tell, Lenox is expecting a little brother named Lincoln soon after Thanksgiving!

This was the more common scene!
And of course, fun smiles as we're leaving.
The beautiful "mama".
