Lenox's announcement

I'm back in Virginia now, after a full week of educational and inspirational photography seminars with some of the top wedding photographers in the world! What a privilege to learn from Garrett and Joy Nudd, Jen and Stephen Bebb, Curt Littlecott (and Stephanie), Joe Buissink, and Marcus Bell. Spending several days with Garrett, Joy, Jen, Stephen, Curt and Stephanie was such a treat. They are such fun people - in addition to being amazing photographers. Check out their work if you have time, it's incredible.

Now that I'm home and baby Lenox is far away in Florida, there won't be any more pictures of him for a while, sadly. I was waiting to share the announcement I designed until all the family and friends had received theirs in the mail. So, here is is, along with a larger version of one picture which has turned out to be my favorite of all his baby pictures. He's still cute, just a few pounds heavier than in these pictures! He's growing fast! At one month, he's now 13 pounds, 3 ounces and 24 inches long!

Riley is 1

For those of you who have been following the blog since it's beginning, you'll recognize Riley, who is turning into a little girl before our very eyes. It hardly seems like a whole year could have past since we were taking pictures for her birth announcement. It's been fun to document her growth every 3 months. I've decided the easiest age to photograph is three months - lots of smiles and no ability to move from where we placed her. :) But she's awfully cute at a year!

Riley wasn't too sure about the cake, but eventually took a bite on her own.

Lenox smiles :)

Humor me with a couple more Lenox posts. :) I'll be going home soon so there won't be many more after that until my next trip to Florida, and I'm not sure when that will be.
Lenox will be 3 weeks old tomorrow and seemed to be smiling today for the first time in response to my mom talking to him. Smiles do look cute on him, don't you think?

Can't get enough of Lenox

Most of these are from Lenox's first official family portrait session. His first few weeks are certainly well documented! But he's so cute I can't resist taking just one more picture! :)

All the Attaways

The Attaways are family - "adopted" family by my family since we have no aunts, uncles or cousins! If you've followed my blog, you'll find them in last summer's family beach pictures, our annual tradition. This time it was a more formal shoot, don't they look great! Here's a slideshow for a few more pictures.

Lee and his motorcycle

I just bought a new camera lens (70-200 f/2.8 IS)and was able to try it out yesterday. My brother, Lee, wanted to document some of his motorcycle tricks so we finally found a few minutes to go out for a quick shoot. His stunts were pretty impressive and with this new lens I was able to capture the action. I'm glad that didn't include any splats on the street!

Lenox's second week

This was Lenox's offical shoot for his birth announcement. However, I can't show you the pictures we picked for the announcement since I want those of you receiving it to see the real thing first. But there were plenty of other great shots, so here are a few of the adorable "little man" as his mother calls him.

Yes, he does have permanent wrinkles on his forehead, and he looks at everyone like this, he wasn't just mad at me. :)

Jacksonville FL Engagement Photography - Alayne and Matt

Alayne and Matt have been married for 9 months, a perfect time for a fun photo shoot! Alayne is a long time family friend, I've known her since she was born, in fact. Here's a slideshow of more of the fun pictures. In case you're wondering how they are warm enough at the beach, it was a beautiful January day - in Florida. :)

Lenox has eyes!

When Lenox is asleep he's really out, but we have discovered that he does have eyes! He keeps them shut so much we were beginning to wonder if he was intentionally ignoring us. :) He's had a lot to adjust to during his first week in the world, but seems to be taking it all in stride - for the most part.

Look at the size of his hands!
